A solution
Jobhandy's 2nd Lifecycle Management.

What happens to a Job mobile phone device
after the term?

After being returned, our rental devices go through a structured refurbishment process in order to reuse them efficiently. In doing so, we focus on sustainability, data protection and high-quality controls. Here you can find out how the 2nd lifecycle process works at JobHandy.

1. End of rental period

At the end of the rental period, we provide a simple and uncomplicated return. For this purpose, a return label is automatically created so that shipping is free and hassle-free for our customers.

2. Smart Receive — initial verification & data security

Once returned, the device is comprehensively checked to ensure that it is the correct model and that there are no active locks. This includes a serial number check for identification, verification of the blocking status (FMI check, lock check) and an initial GDPR-compliant data deletion to securely remove customer data. These measures ensure secure and privacy-compliant further processing of the device.

3. Auto grading — condition assessment & cleaning

As soon as the device has passed the safety check, it is professionally cleaned and subjected to a condition analysis. This uses AI-based technology that records and evaluates the optical state of the device. In this way, scratches, wear and other signs of wear can be reliably detected.

4. Auto testing — fully automated functional tests

Each device is tested for perfect technical performance through robot-based functional tests. The display, touchscreen, battery life, charging function, loudspeaker, microphone, sensors and camera are checked. If defects are identified, a further analysis is carried out to decide whether to repair or reuse them.

5. Channeling — Deciding for the 2nd Lifecycle

After the technical analysis, it is decided how the device will be reused. This involves a second, comprehensive GDPR-compliant data deletion to ensure the highest data protection standards. It is then checked whether the device is suitable for reuse or whether it is being repaired or resold.

6. 2nd lifecycle — reuse & resale

Based on the analysis, the device goes through one of three possible paths:

Re-use
Devices that are in good condition are approved for reuse and are given a second life cycle.

Refurbishment/repair (preparation & repair)
If necessary, the device is professionally refurbished or repaired. This decision is based on an economic and environmental assessment to ensure that as many devices as possible can continue to be used.

Recom (sale to business customers or private customers)
Devices that are suitable for resale are marketed via B2B or B2C channels. Here, too, the selection is made taking into account economic and ecological criteria.

7. Kitting & shipping

Before a device moves on to the next phase of use, it is carefully packaged. We use environmentally friendly BrownBox packaging, which is produced in collaboration with social institutions. In addition, all necessary accessories such as cable and SIM PIN are included before the device is securely shipped. Depending on the condition of the device, we either offer it for re-rental with a two-year warranty or sell it directly to customers.

Focus on sustainability & data protection

With our 2nd Lifecycle Management we make an important contribution to the circular economy. By extending the life of our devices, we reduce electronic waste and minimize our environmental footprint. At the same time, we ensure that customer data remains protected at all times through multi-stage GDPR-compliant data deletions. This is how we create a sustainable solution that is beneficial both for our customers and for the environment.
